Feminices
2004 / 72'
Director: Domingos Oliveira

Amid the infernal heat of January, during the summer of 1993, directed by Mariano Falcão, four actresses from Rio decide to air to the public what would only be possible to reveal through the reading of personal. The collection of statements was transformed into the play “Confissões das Mulheres de 30”, a “must see” of the 1993 season, which had a five year run, touring the country and gaining international projection. The sincerity and humor of the Rio actresses had met identifications far away from Ipanema.
Ten years later, in 2003, the same courageous authors/actresses come together again in the research of a more provocative theme, the behavior of 40-year old women. And the debut with success. Hardly did they know that Falcão himself would soon transform the theatrical staging into a cinematic documentary, a “confessional documentary of a fictional character” about feminine behavior and their own femininity. It is called: “FEMINICES.”
