A picture of the process of settlement of the Amazon in the seventies, when the Federal Government provided broad incentive to occupation fronts in the region. Expedito Ribeiro de Souza, a laborer and poet of everyday life, from the state of Minas, departs with his family to the forest in search of a piece of land he can farm. His commitment to political and union fighting leads him to persecution and later, to death, as ordered by great land owners. As from his premature death, relatives spread throughout the entire country follow the route pioneered by Expedito. A film on the poetry and the struggle of a man in search of different futures.
